LA GROVE KEEPER SAVES THE RAINY DAY AGAINST UNLUCKY TEAM /S!

Team /S 4 (Les, og, Rama, yd) La Grove 4

A significant return for our cultured winger Les as he puts his name on the scoresheet!

Going into the game with a make-shift defence, Team /S was always going to be vulnerable. However, a determined Team /S managed a hard earned point as they get their first draw in the league.

As always, Team /S started on the backfoot conceding an early goal. From now on, all our opponents' goals can be visualised the same way (ie. A helpless John chasing after the striker and the striker puts the ball past a helpless keeper) 0-1 to La Grove.

But guess who scored the equaliser? It's none other then Mr. Lester! A low hard drive from Navin from the left found Les who was at full stretch to put the ball at the back of the net! 1-1!

The moment was short-lived as La Grove very quickly scored another 2. 1-3.

Effective utilisation of the flanks again helpd Team /S claw back! yd dribbling down the right flank inviting a sliding tackle to earn a penalty but the tackle never came and he puts a low drive into the 6 yard box only to be deflected off a La Grove defender and a stunned GK could only watch the ball roll into the net. 2-3!

Before HT, an almost Essien like knee level tackle on John got La Grove down to 10 men. Perfect chance for Team /S to claim all 3 points! Half-Time.

In the 2nd half, Team /S immediately piled on the pressure and a determined run from ky to keep the ball in paid off as he found Rama in the box to equalise for the 2nd time in the game! 3-3!

Just when Team /S thought they could win the game, La Grove scored again from a counter-attack. Their lone striker, troubling our defence all day scoring his hat-trick. 3-4. Team /S heading for yet another defeat!

But all is not over! in the final minutes of the game, Mos found an unmarked yd who latched onto the ball past the defender and slots the ball into the far post. 4-4! Full-time.

Team /S had numerous chances to score but their keeper was just fantastic. Several brave rushing out attempts stopped some really good goal-scoring opportunities. A free-kick effort bound for the top corner beautifully tipped over the bar and a point blank catch from Ben's header were just a few of the incredible saves.

Nevertheless, a great effort as 11 players played under the pouring rain with a never-say-die attitude! Let's look forward to our next game! The Best is Yet to Be.
